Sketches for 422 and Sunrise

As usual, I sketched out on the porch yesterday and today when it was light enough.  The mornings have been just gorgeous and cool.  It is dark when we get up, so I  check social media, news, on my iPad so I don't need a light and have my coffee and snack.

Sunrise about 7:00 a.m. from the porch.

After the sun came up, I sketched with the Prismacolor 01 pen in the large sketchbook.  Quickly and freehand.  These are for Scavenger Hunt 422.  http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1389044

Number 9, nail clippers - double sided??
Number 10, hat - isn't Gene a good sport?  He even went in and brought the two hats for me to choose from.  The brim on the baseball cap should be longer.  It is bright yellow with the New Mexico Zia symbol in red with black trim.  In the other hat sketch, I put the ear first and then dropped his forehead down and made him a pinhead.  Another sigh.....  Gene just laughed.

Number 11, pillar - the end of the porch with the screened part in front of the pillar.
Number 12 footstool - the one I use on the porch.  Evidently I looked one way for the top and another angle for the legs.  It is nice and symmetrical and comfy to use.

Number 13, chain - Gene's silver chain from Bolivia.  It has little washer like links with rings connecting them.
Number 14, outdoor table - we don't have any so substituted one of the nesting tables of chrome and glass that we use on the porch
Number 15, phone other than cell phone - our Bluetooth option.
Number 16, iron - an antique, missing the handle, it burned in the fire.  To use these irons you filled it with hot coals.  It must have made ironing even more of a chore and extra warm in the summer.

This is the Virgo  "horror-scope" by Holiday in the Austin American Statesman today.  "You're gathering facts, figures, evidence, inspiration -- all the things you need to move forward with your project.  The better you know your subject the better your work will turn out."

My project is to make a little painting for a gift.  My "horror-scope" must be telling me to paint apples!!  What do you think?

Lovely sketches Jo! And from that photo it looks like you live in God's Country! Absolutely beautiful.

hmuxo, thanks so much. Yes, have a couple of little lakes (ponds) and a great view. The only drawback is the "HOT" summers. :)

Lovely sunrise photo! Glad to see you have done so many sketches for the hunt. I have unfortunately slacked off.

Gene is a good sport. Cowboy hats are difficult, but you did well. I'm sure it is Gene's head that was the problem.

It cooled off here just in time for our annual camping trip to the Wichitas. Yay!

Jennifer Rose, thanks. Gene doesn't mind posing which is good. Apples don't mind either, then you can eat the models. Ha!

Joan, I have sketched a few more than usual, but no painting. :( Your slacking is much mor than my normal!

Bag Blog, gene laughed out loud at your remark. Now that I think about it, I'm sure you are right! Hope your weekend is great! Nice and cool here, it was 57.2 this morning.
