Hunting on 397 and an Inspiration Note

I sketched a bit this morning.  I was up at the crack of dawn and about 9:00 a.m. I decided to have a coffee break and do some sketching.  My ambition exceded my capability this morning but I will post them anyway, for the record.

For Scavenger Hunt 397, http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1374696
Number 8, desk
Number 9, have a handle
Number 10, animal - I called it "dog" and then remembered I had sketched a dog so will call this on an animal.  It is a bronze sculpture done by our friend, Charlie Force.  It is so good and my drawing is not so good.  But after all they are sketches and I should get more practice drawing animals and people.

Here is Mac Duff.  He is a bit dark since the fire.  This is about 6 inches long and 3 inches high.  We should handle it more and some of the patina would come back.

We all have our good days and bad days.  Regina Burchett, my painting buddy, wrote an article/blog post that is a must read for us artists.  It can easily apply to non artists as well.  You can find my latest post about Regina here on my blog http://www.jocastilloartblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/i-miss-regina-burchett.html  From there you can easily find more information.

A bit of introspective on how to stay inspired:

Thank you, Jo, for the link to my blog post!

Your pen sketches of the dog came out great! I'm always impressed by what you can draw with a pen. And what an excellent little sculpture that is.

Thanks, Regina. I like using a pen as it is faster, sort of like pastels. Not as forgiving thoug. :)

Is McDuff the famous guard dog from your South America days?

Regina's post was very good. I like #10 best.

Bag Blog, Mac Duff was Charlie's dog. Our airedale was Ali Ben a few years later. Great dogs. If we ever had a dog again I would want an airedale. So loving and protective.

I like 10 also on Regina's list. I would add to paint with your art buddies! They are moving the Big 12 Baseball tourney to Tulsa. :(

Tulsa is a lot of fun. You can visit the Gilcrease Museum and the Philbrook. Tulsa is not very convenient though.

Bag Blog, it doesn't seem very convenient for us either. We will probably not go. Bad timing this year.
