Making the Most of It - Sketches and Photos

I liked the photo cards I made for Christmas, so decided to order some more blank cards.  The white cards were very inexpensive.  I looked them up again on Amazon.com and found they had some in ivory.  Ah! Those would look richer and have a soft touch for background to the photos.  One click ordering -- order 100 instead of 50 to save on postage!  The cards arrived and,  almost a buttercup yellow.  WHAT?  Did I click on the wrong button??

Moral of the story, read the reviews before ordering.  There were a few reviews that said the cards were yellow.  I should not have been in such a big hurry.  It will cost more to return them than I paid for them .. almost.  I can sketch on them with a pen.  Some photos will look OK.  Others will not!  I will just have to "Make the Most of It!"  (Note to self:  read the reviews and order some white cards.)

The cards next to some ivory business card stock.  Not IVORY

I am hosting Scavenger Hunt 351, come on over and play with us!  The list is of 26 ordinary items lasts for 9 days.  You may sketch as many or as few as you like and comment or not.  The sketch artists are scattered around the globe and it is fun to see what a mailbox in Thailand looks like compared to Canada or Germany.  It is fun and keeps me sketching.

Number 1, couch and Number 2, book cover.  Both sketched in the full size sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen.  About a third of the page in about 20 minutes total, free hand.  (Remember you can click on the photos to make them larger.)

One of the two hawks that hangs around our home came by and ventured a bit closer.  We bought the Purple Martin House and it has attracted Eastern Bluebirds, wrens and now the hawk.  Hmmmm.  We think it is a Redtailed Hawk.  His tail doesn't show in these photos.  Maybe he will come closer next time.

We have a hawk here - not a red tail though. I have a picture of him sitting on a post out the back side of the house. I love watching him.

Bag Blog, The hawks are fun to watch, you are right. I don't know why, but we have a pair hanging around.

So cool about the hawk getting closer!

Joanna, both hawks have been hanging around. Haven't seen the roadrunner much lately.
