Sketches Hunt 338 and 337

I sketched a bit for Scavenger Hunt 338.  I am hosting so all y'all ought to come on over and do some sketching with us.  As per usual, these are freehand in a Canson sketchbook that is almost full.  I used a Prismacolor Premier 03 fine line marker/pen.

Number 1, pumpkin and Number 2, clown.  Gene bought me the small pumpkin to sketch back when I took the "orange" class with Enid Wood.  You can see it is small compared to the Beanie Baby sock monkey which was a substitute for clown.

Number 3, abacus or calculator.  We had an abacus when we were in South America, maybe one of our kids has it or it burned.  I was surprised that Gene still had a calculator from his job.

Number 4, jelly or jam.  Some Cherry & Blackberry from HEB.  I don't know why we have that.  Hmmm.  It is usually strawberry, blueberry or grape in our house.  Number 5, nutmeg - a small jar.  I like that in eggnog.  Almost the season!  :)

I sketched a couple more items for Hunt 337, but didn't get them posted here.  I like to do that to keep a record.  Same tool and sketchbook.

Number 6, plastic - an empty ink cartridge.

Number 7, metal - a couple of small buckets that Christy used to hold sparklers for her reception departure.  I brought them home to paint them.  I will probably make popcorn buckets out of them.

Today was cold and dreary.  That reminds me of something we used to say when we were camping or overnight somewhere and the stories started.  Sometimes ghost stories.   I think my Mom told it to me.  I told it to our kids.  When it was my turn I would say in a soft scary way,
"It was a dark and stormy night, three men sat all alone and one said,  "Jim, tell me a story," so Jim began: "It was a dark and stormy night, three men sat all alone and one said, "Jim, tell me a story," so Jim began:  "It was a dark and stormy ............. etc.
The kids would get soooo aggravated.

I don't remember an abacus.

Cherry & Blackberry jam is interesting. I might have to give it a try next time I'm out.

I do not remember the scary story. Hmmm...

Joanna, maybe the abacus was after you stayed in the States. And, as for the story, you probably were not impressed! Ha!
