I'm not super happy with these sketches. I did use a Prismacolor Premier 03 for sketching and can do a bit better with less work than on the iPad. I of course sketched out on the porch except for the belt and jeans. You know artists can produce or make better art when we are comfortable and in a good mood. Therefore, I'm not sure that I really accomplish "practice" when I'm not 100% involved and you can tell with these sketches.
I will be brave and post them anyway.
Number 4, belt and Number 5, pocket and belt loop.
Number 6, bird - the hummers, they are super speedy models.
Number 7, foot
Number 8, knot - bows and knots on my shoes
Number 9, nails and Number 10, favorite tool - well, at the moment. I'm pretty sure pastels are my all time favorite. It is good practice to hold the pen in my left hand and then use it to sketch with my right hand. I probably switched it back and forth about 4 times. Pretty accurate in length and width. You can tell I felt better yesterday.
For my art link have a look at the show at Insights Gallery in Fredericksburg this month featuring John Fawcett.

Doesn't it look fantastic? I would love to go. Super prices on the artwork, too. :)
Tomorrow it is check up, deliver a painting to ASH, see the sidebar, and get Gene's new Terra Trike looked at. It will be a long day.
Speaking of trikes, Gene has been having trouble riding his bicycle for several months. It is a balance problem with his PD. He did pretty well in Albuquerque with the bike paths dedicated to biking and walking with no streets to cross, etc. He rode twice here and fell both times, riding about 10 miles each time, which was great but hard on the old body. We were both banged up. Sigh..... He was riding for his birthday. He has a goal to ride 100 miles on his birthday. He accomplished that many times in the past. Last year he made 50 miles.
Now, he took the plunge back to childhood and got a TerraTrike. Pretty darn cool. It is comfortable and he rode a couple of times already. You can see photos below of his birthday ride on his regular bike and then the new one. It is so good for him to be out and exercise. Yay!!
Birthday ride over by the old burned out house on his old route.
Yesterday on the new TerraTrike Rambler. He says he wishes he had gotten it sooner. As he says, "Too soon we grow old and too late smart."

Toby is going to be jealous of Gene. He has looked at recumbent bikes also. There is a store in Lexington, OK, not too far off of I35. Toby plans on taking his bike to Eureka Springs. If Gene brings the recumbent, Toby will be all over him.
Rest the shoulder. We will give it a good work out soon.
So cool - I'm jealous too!!
Bag Blog, Gene is definitely bring the TerraTrike Rambler. Toby is welcome to try it out! My arm is improved, I'm going to try a bit of painting this weekend to see how it goes.
Regina, it is very cool. I even tried it, but won't get on any road except in a car, preferably a big car!
Thanks, you two.
Jo: Your talent shines through in your sketches.
Sorry to hear about the troubles, but I'm glad that things are improving for both of you. Haven't been sketching live with a pencil much myself and see that my skills have slipped. Must do a better job with that. :-)
Fishing guy, thank you!
Rose, boy, you know how hard it is to find time. You do much more extra stuff having three young boys at home! Thanks for stopping by.
(Have not been commenting so going back to make some comments.)
I like the last sketch of the pen. Very nice.
Thanks, Joanna. I know you don't have much computer time to spare. I like the pen, too. Hugs.
