Sketches for Hunt 311

I sketched a bit in the hotel room.  I used the Prismacolor 05 and my travel sketchbook.  Probably about 30 minutes total.  I didn't feel like reading and can only play so many games and do so many crosswords, so got out the sketchbook and sketched for Scavenger Hunt 311.  Oh, wait ... I could have gone for a walk with Gene.  Actually my allergies are so bad here that I just wanted to vegetate.  Didn't even go out of the room most of the day.  Better yesterday and today.

Number 1, drawstring - the top of Gene's sweats.  Number 2, shoe - I don't think I have sketched this particular shoe before for the Hunts.  Number 3, shopping bag - Gene brought a piece of cheesecake from the bakery nearby.  I should have walked.  :-)

Number 4, plastic - my thermos type water cup.  It has an orange top, straw and the band to keep from slipping.  And yes, the straw is bent.  It had water and ice inside.

We always enjoy Albuquerque and look forward to returning for the IAPS Convention.  That is the International Association of Pastel Societies.  It is the first week in June, wow, getting close.  You might want to think about coming. The deadline for pre-registering is this week, I think.   Several hundred pastelists arrive for workshops, demos, networking and shopping.  The major pastel vendors set up shop with huge discounts on pastels and equipment with demos there as well.  There are such interesting places to paint and you are soooo close to Santa Fe and Taos.  It is a super time.

Maybe I will see you in June!

Joanna, thanks. You know too well about allergies and feeling lousy. Sorry for you, too.
