Routine Sketches .. Not!

I am trying to get back in a routine, but that isn’t going to be easy with Christmas on the horizon.  I did manage to do a sketch this morning for Scavenger Hunt 294.  I sketched on the porch with the brown paper sketchbook and a Pilot ball point pen.  As usual, I sketched freehand and quickly as possible.

Number 1 - fork, Number 2 - knife, and Number 3 - napkin.  I couldn’t decide where to put them down so I held them in my hand.  The knife angle is off.  The way I drew it, it would be sliding out of the napkin.  It was still good practice.

I did a small sketch with a pencil for the last Hunt and never posted it.

Hunt number 293 Number 2 - for cooking - a little rosemary bush given to us by Mrs. Mear. I let the corner of the sketchbook show in the photo, it is above the silverware sketch.

We will be having some family from Arizona and New Mexico visiting for Christmas.  Isn’t that great?  They will bring tamales so Jennie and I won’t have to make our usual batch.  That is a first in a long, long time.  Yay!

Gene put up Christmas lights on the house and porches.  It will look pretty good.  We have more to wrap a couple of trees and I need to decorate the mailbox.  Most of the shopping is done, too.  I hope to get the wrapping done early.  I usually end up doing it on Christmas Eve or the evening before that.  I won’t have time so better get on the ball!  We will see if I can get a photo or two.

Oh, and painting to get done.  That is the biggest hurdle.  Surely my mojo will come back soon.  My mom used to say, “My get up and go, got up and went!”  That is about the truth.

Keep going; surely the art mojo will return. I feel like mine has been on vacation for a while, too.

I was also thinking I needed to get things wrapped in a timely fashion this year. :-) Good luck to both of us!
