Routine and Sketches for Hunt 271

I sketched out on the porch, part of our routine lately.  It is so hot now that the early morning is about all the "porch sitting" time we can accomplish.  We have had a few 100+ days which means the nights are down to about 80 and too muggy to open the house at night.  Maybe that gives you an idea of why we hit the road in July!

I have been painting on a painting to replace a couple that were lost in the fire in September in Bastrop.  It is difficult when you lose everything and replacing a painting that they bought is the least I can do.  It is not the same painting, but is of trees and has the same palette so hopefully they will like it.  I will post it here after delivery.  I painted the view from the porch in acrylic.  I used a square canvas which is different from the painting they had of the view from my kitchen window in the old house.

This sketch for Scavenger Hunt 271 was done in the same brown paper sketchbook with the same Prismacolor Premier 08 fine marker/pen.

Number 4, unforgettable - the black candle holder/lantern made by Charlie Force from a coffee can and painted black.  Charlie was a good friend that could do anything with his hands.  Truly an unforgettable friend.

Number 5 - complicated - the little table has complicated legs to draw.  It folds up and the legs all collapse.  I certainly did not get the perspective down freehand.  The second one on the right is a bit better.  Not good, though.

We have had some rather warm days, but some cooler rainy days, too. So far, it's not such a bad summer, but it is warming up.

As always, the sketches are fun - I like the complicated legs.

Yay! We had some rain last night, an inch in 45 minutes with big wind. Cooled it off nicely! Glad you are gitting in some biking. Thanks, Bag Blog on the sketches.

Joanna, thanks. You know I could do better if I took my time and pre-sketched the feet. Next time.

We did make use of the porch that night. Love it!
