I went to Walmart with a friend on Monday. I rarely buy groceries there. As we walked through the produce department I saw the garlic. I picked up a box with two heads in it and brought it home. The next day I decided to put it in the bowl where I store garlic. The garlic had been at Walmart so long it was sprouting! Great painting idea, right?
This is the result:
Sprouts, Pastel on Multimedia Pastel Panel, 7 x 5 inches |
I didn't have bright sun for the photo, but I think the colors are close. I usually take pastel photos in direct sunlight. I find I do not have to adjust the photo very much that way. This is a Jo's Notion and will be for sale here, on my Jo's Notions Blog and website.
My plan to get back in gear was to paint every day. Today we went to Killeen to pick up my paintings from the Convention Center. We met up with Regina Burchett there, took down the show, and had lunch and came back home. I may get in a sketch or two for the Scavenger Hunts so that will have to be my "painting" for today.
Regina will be my artist link for the day. She has her website and a blog. She also sponsors a sight with beautiful paintings from many artists of pears. Check out Pearathon and see what you think? You can get your beautiful pears posted there, too.

Nice. I say you should plant it and see what happens!
Joanna, OK, will do that. I do not have a very green thumb. : - )
LOVE this painting Jo! You took an everyday subject and made it look fresh, new and exciting...now that's a real artist.
Hi Teresa, thank you so much. Happy to see the grandbaby doing well!
