Sorry, no art for today. UT Baseball started on Saturday. It was supposed to start on Friday, but the first game was rained out. We had company on Saturday so we missed the first game. We went Saturday night which was cold sitting in the stadium. They players seemed fine! The Longhorns won over Duke the first two games and on Sunday, a chilly day, too, the Longhorns lost.
The Longhorns presented members of the team from the first couple of years they won the College World Series before the Sunday game. We arrived just after that so I didn't get a photo. Kevin Lusson had his first homerun of the year. Very good for him and fun to see.
The Longhorns wore retro uniforms which was interesting. The first time they all had their socks showing for a while. Ha.
You can read about the games via Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page or the official Longhorn site (they have great photos, but I can't link to them. Go to the site, look under Multimedia, photo galleries and then find the baseball photos). I'd go read Joanna's page if I were you.
Small Rant:
The University of Texas has their own network now and it has certainly messed up the games for us. We cannot see the games as none of the major TV providers are showing them. Grande Communications is showing the Longhorn Network, but they don't have service here or in all of Austin. Plus it is an extra cost package. Crummy. It also delays the game as they show commercials every inning change so play is delayed until the commercials air. NCAA made rules to speed up the games, but if the games are televised, TV controls the time between innings. Very irritating. UT also moved the Saturday games to night/evening to accommodate all sports so we are now at baseball on Saturday nights. Before we could go to the games and then to music or get home early on Saturdays. You don't think everything is changed to make money, do you?? Booooooo.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I like that last photo! Think I'm gonna "steal" it. :-)
You are welcome to the photo, Joanna. Do you want more pixels? Looks like it will be cool again for tonight's game, too.
Ah, Joanna, I get it now. :-)
Let's face it. We don't like change, well, except for maybe the socks.
Bag Blog, the high socks do look like "real baseball".
