I took a break from that yesterday and did some sketching for Scavenger Hunt 243. It was very windy, but I did go out to the lake for the water sketch. I sketched in the regular old brown paper sketchbook with the Prismacolor Premier 05 pen, which has held up very well all summer! Cool.
Number 1, hand. A challenge with this to draw both hands, the right with the left and the left with the right. My sketching was not good yesterday so you can't really tell if I am right or left handed. Well, maybe.
Number 2, owie. I had an owie on my arm where they drew blood. They have such a hard time getting my blood out. Owie, for sure.
Number 3, water - A little sketch of the lake here. Very windy so no ducks and they had mowed, so no interesting plants around the area. I don't remember the wind being so bad when we first moved to Bastrop or the Austin area years ago. That is one of the things I disliked about our home town of Magdalena. It was always dusty. That area seems less windy now, go figure.
Number 4, plant - a very bright apple green ground cover by the front entrance. This is such a small section of the plant. I didn't number the sketch, but did after the photo.
For the art link, don't forget about the Pearathon to see some lovely pears and contribute some that you have painted. Regina Burchett, my pastel buddy, came up with the idea. Don't you love to paint pears? Have fun with that.
And for the saga:
We were supposed to get some rain the last couple of days. Not to be! Sad. I tried the sunrise but not so interesting with all the fog and clouds.
Sunrise yesterday in the fog. |
Sunrise today with clouds. |
The driveway. |
The Aqua Water tower near HWY 71 and McAllister |
The rubble and what was left of the trees after they took the first huge bunch of trees. |
The drive and stumps closer to the house. |
Gene by the one stump to see how big around the tree was. |
Where the house was and stumps around it. |
Down the road, Crafts Prairie. That "was" a very brushy area. |
Looking forward now, especially after finishing the inventory of contents. I'm more interested in getting the house ready. Our loan is well underway and hopefully we will close is 10 days or so. It will be a few days after closing to move in. Some minor repairs like small leak under the kitchen sink. Probably because it hasn't been used in almost two years. Need some curtains or drapes, etc. Won't be long now.
The RV has been great in comparison to living in a hotel, but is getting smaller day by day. Ha. We even have the utility trailer right outside for storage. There are quite a few RV's set up permanently here in the park. Not our lifestyle at all. Heh, heh.

The UPS guy just delivered 9 boxes. "Did you do your Christmas shopping or what?" I explained and told him there would be much more. :) It was fun to open the boxes and now take it to storage.
The lot looks so barren.
Boy, Joanna, you are so right. Pretty sad.
