I started sketching for Scavenger Hunt 225 last Sunday. I sketched out on the porch, early before it gets too hot to sit out there. I had my coffee and rice cake. Beautiful start to the day. I sketched in the Ultrecht brown paper sketchbook with a Pilot ball point pen ant the Faber-Castell PITT F pen. We were going to have a couple of hours between baseball games so I took the sketchbook with me and sketched while we sat after lunch. It is always nice to do art outside from real things as opposed to photos. Of course a requirement for the Hunts is to sketch from life.
Number 1, made from glass - candle holder; Number 2, made from metal - a hammered from copper relief map of Chile. A friend of Gene's made these in Peru. Very interesting, we have a map of Bolivia, US and Chile Flags, etc. They are fixed on wooden plaques. Number 3, building - one of the buildings near the parking lot for baseball.
Number 4, vehicle - a red Mustang in the parking lot. I left the top off, way to hot to have the top down. Yes, it was a Mustang. Sure doesn't look even close. Ah well. Number 5, plant - the ivy that was growing up the tree across the street.
Number 6, scissors with the challenge of sketching two different types of scissors. Number 7, something from my purse - my little sketchbook and Pilot pen.
Today I painted and it will fit in for Number 8, fruit. I did not get a photo of the painting, though. Can you stand the suspense?
On Tuesday we walked our nine holes of golf and as we were going to the course we spied these two big turkeys on the street.
At the golf course I found another couple of wildflowers. These are lantana. It is sooooo dry here.
I went in to town on Tuesday afternoon to check on my paintings at the Guild gallery. They are fine. Heh, heh. You might note that the painting on the lower left is the painting I thought was missing when we got home in October from New Mexico. I found it wrapped with some of my supplies. Don't know how I missed it with opening my gallery and then closing it. I had moved almost everything around. So..... Guess I should change the name to "Lost and Found". :)
I also had to check on the mail. I changed my mailing address at the Post Office on-line. Well, they started forwarding the Guild mail to me as well. I got a letter in Saturday's mail and I thought it was just one, then on Tuesday I had a little packet of mail. Irritating, but understandable I suppose. Jo Castillo Art Studio & Gallery looks just like Bastrop Fine Arts Guild, right?
This is the White Morpha Fine Art Restoration and Gallery where I have some paintings, too. It was an old gas station, but really is fixed up nice. Thanks to Jessica Miller. Stop in and check it out. Very well done with some very interesting art.

Those turkeys are huge!
Joanna, the turkeys are big. I was surprised to see such big ones or any ones. :-)
We have lots of turkeys around here. Try not to hit them with your car; they can do some serious damage.
Bag Blog, we have never hit turkeys or a deer. We hit a llama in Bolivia once. Not nice. Lucky that it didn't get to the windshield. Messed up the hood and fender. We were passing a bus and it ran in front of the bus so we didn't see it. Yuck ... and a close call.
