For Hunt 227, I sketched in the Ultrecht sketchbook with a Prismacolor Marker Premier.
Number 16, music - some CD's. I put RickTrevino's Christmas album on top as it is white with a poinsettia on it. Not much to sketch! I'm lazy you remember. Number 12, egg. Number 13, fruit - lime or tomato ?? Number 14, veggie - pepper or tomato ?? What is a tomato to you, fruit or veggie?
Number 15, toy - a little purple car on the porch.
And for the new Hunt 228, where I am the host, I sketched this morning on the porch in the same book.
Number 1, fly swatter - this is a fly swatter we got in Canada or at least like the first battery operated fly swatter we got in Canada when we were going up there for the summers. It works like a bug zapper. Gene's mom really liked hers. Gene does, too. I'm always worried that the fly or bug will explode in my face. Ha. The challenge is Gene framing yesterday. The challenge is to look back a day and sketch from memory someone doing something. The challenge was using the Pilot ball point pen and the others are with the Prismacolor pen/marker.
Number 2, couch. The old couch on the porch. It is upholstered in orange and brown so you can tell it is pretty darned old. When were those colors so popular? Along with avacado appliances. Hmm, late sixties or early seventies. Wow. It was our first new couch about 1966, but was reupholstered along the way.
Think about joining us on the Scavenger Hunts. As host you pick 26 everyday items and the Hunt is up for 9 days. You sketch as many or as few as you want and post them. Commenting is optional. It is fun to share and meet artists from around the globe and learn about different cultures. I discovered Nutella to eat, and it is yummy. What more can you ask? It is fun and keeps me sketching.
These grackles were at HEB on Monday evening when we were coming back from Austin. It was getting dark and the hundreds of grackles were trying to get settled in the trees. They were zooming all around, fighting and making the most horrific noise. These photos don't show how many and yucky they were. Shades of the movie, The Birds!
On a cheerier note, this little bambi was in the back yard the next morning. His mom was off behind the shed and I guess she left him hidden in the brush from the downed tree. He stood so still, then lay down. I was on the porch about 30 yards away. I went to take a photo of the mom and she skedaddled taking the fawn with her. Using that word, skedaddled, reminded me of Pickles in the comics this morning.

I was in your neck of the woods this past weekend, but was a woman on a mission. I will be in NM later in July and plan on coming to see you then.
Bag Blog, gosh hope to see you. We get to Angel Fire on July 15. Cool! Sorry to miss you here. Was it warm enough for you??
Tomato = icky fruit. :-)
Like the silly Pickles comic.
Joanna, tomatoes make good spaghetti sauce. :) Pickles is good once in a while.
