Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

We made it back to Bastrop.  We planned to be gone just a few days and ended up away for almost two weeks.  So my studio is still in disarray, I haven't closed up the books on the gallery and more.  Hopefully we can catch up soon.  Of course today and the weekend is the Texas Tech series with Longhorn Baseball.  Hook 'em Horns!

It was great to see all the family for Mom Frances' services.  The rosary was in Albuquerque last Tuesday, the funeral mass was in Albuquerque Wednesday morning and the burial of her ashes (cremains) was in Magdalena in the afternoon.  There were hundreds of people at the different services -- mostly family.  :)  Thanks to all for coming and all the cards and donations.

Here are a few photos from the trip to Magdalena and home...

Ladrones and contrails south of Albuquerque

The Ladrones from HWY 60 west of Socorro.
I have to take photos of those mountains.  Who knows why?

Magdalena Mountain

The Magdalena Post Office, no one there??

Peppers Gallery, no one there either??
Is this David's truck in Roswell or some other space alien??

The long HWY 380 from Roswell toward Tatum, NM
The beach along HWY 380 ... ah, sorry, just sand dunes, no water.
What a suprise, dust in West Texas.   Along HWY 137 or 87 between Brownfield and Big Spring.  Worse than it looked.

Our gas mileage must have been 35 mpg with that tail wind!

And the pretty Austin skyline as we got back into Austin.
Our house has oak droppings all over now that the loblolly pines are finished with their pollen.  Gene will be busy uncovering the furniture on the porch and blowing this oak junk off of the decks.  But, we are glad to be back home.  See you soon, I hope.

The last photo was definitely the best :-) --- gotta have trees and some GREEN!

Hi Regina, you are like the house plants I left here. They were thirsty when we got back. Ha. They like green, too. I don't like the dust but I like the high desert with the mesas and beautiful colors.

Isn't it good to be home - sleeping in your own bed? The wind in West Texas and Eastern NM and here in OK has been horrible. But at least here, we don't have the red sand.

Bag Blog, yes it is great to be home. I miss NM all the time, but I really don't like the wind and dust! In our home town it was rocks blowing around. Yuck!!!!

It's amazing how different the Austin skyline looks these days. I barely recognize it!

Joanna, I probably wouldn't recognize it at all from photos in a pie. I don't remember some of those buildings going up.

Argh.... photos in a pile not pie! Ha.
