It turns out that the lights on the scoreboard flicker and sometimes you get a photo without some or all of them showing up. You can't see it with the naked eye but cameras can catch that split second of no light. I've taken to taking 2 or 3 photos of the scoreboard to counteract that problem.
That must have been it, Joanna. I took a couple, too, and the other photo was fine. :) Thanks for the explanation! It was interesting to me.
The soap at my car wash smells like bubble gum - funny that you would take a photo of soap.
