I did a few sketches for Scavenger Hunt 188. They are freehand and quick. Part of my procrastination habit (see previous post). The items are A to Z in the alphabet in any order.
|
Number 1, W - wood by the fireplace and Number 2, P - pillows on the futon. |
There are a few cows I had done previously in pencil. I was checking the cows for a painting which I haven't posted yet either. The fireplace wood and the pillows were done with a Pigma Brush Pen.
|
Number 5, C - chime, wind on the porch. Number 6, P - porch light. Number 7, N - needles (pine) Number 8, B - Broom, Number 9, R - rail (porch), Number 10, L - log. Number 11, S - spoon. |
These were done with a regular ball point pen, Pilot. The broom, log and rail satisfy a challenge to get 3 items in a still life.
Gene rode his bike toward Red River yesterday. Here are a few photos along the highway.

Don't know what kind of flowers these are. Pretty anyway. |
|
Indian Pain Brush, the flower is more dense than the ones in Texas. |
|
What is this? Loch Ness, dinosaur, giant worm??? |
|
On the way to Valle Escondio for golf today. |

And Gene at golf. |

I like those purple flowers!
The dinosaur was used years ago as a 4th of July float. The Mutz family used a metal culvert (tinhorn) as the body of the dinosaur. Then later they just put the whole dinosaur/culvert in the creek bed. The Mutz family who own the dinosaur and the ranch that it sets on are some of the early settlers in the area. Johnny Mutz is 90+ years old now. If you look up any history on Elizabethtown, you will see the Mutz name. I have been out to the ranch during round-up to help brand calves in the early spring.
Hi Joanna, you Dad will probably post the close up of a butterfly. Beautiful.
Bag Blog, thanks. I figured you would know! I think there is a museum there, need to check it out.
The photos that you post are all beautiful. I love the photo of the gate. It is so perfect. The photo of pine trees is so breathtaking.
