I mentioned that Regina brought some paintings for my gallery. We have always had such good times painting together. I hope we can continue that. It is good for artists to interact and connect. You can see more of her pastel paintings on her website, Fall Shadows. I will put the one she brought yesterday here to tempt you to go look at more.

She brought some note cards, small prints and some postcards, too. You need to stop by and see the paintings in person.
I will take some photos at the studio/gallery today so you can see how nicely it is coming along.
The Bastrop Fine Arts Guild, in the same building as my studio, is starting "First Friday" in Bastrop. They will have their featured artist for the month reception. Other businesses will stay open until 8 p.m. and see if we can't get the idea working here. The Guild's featured artist for May will be the Bastrop High School Photography Students. That is great. Stop by and see the photos and all the art in our location and across the street at the Mercantile. I will post more about it tomorrow.

My new painting for this and Cinco de Mayo is a pastel of some little girls that were dancing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, several years ago. They were so cute.

These girls are adorable, Joe and Love the colors, too!
Joanna, thank you so much!
Candyn, thank you. I love to paint red things! That is probably why I chose those to to paint!
Love the painting, and the way you handled the fabric is perfect, too!
Hi Susan, thank you. Cloth and folds are so interesting.
Jo - thank you for posting my still life! My sister taught me to dance when I was about 6, so I really enjoyed looking at yours! Hope your first Friday is a lot of fun!
Hi Regina, thank you for putting some of your art in my Gallery. I hope we do well! These dancers were soooo cute. I have more photos, will eventually do some feet.
Jo! I absolutely LOVE "She's My Sister"! Such gorgeous colors, beautiful job on the background... and you know of course that dancing is one of my favorite pastimes. You did an awesome job on this.
Love the "rain gutter" shelving... how ingenious!
Hi Teresa, it was fun painting the little girls. I do love bright colors. So you are a dancer, that is great. I'm not sure where I saw the rain gutters, but I used them when I had the studio there before. Easy to use and take down.
