Studio and a few Baseball Photos

Maybe, just maybe, I will get back to my normal blogging routine. We are back in Texas and have started to set up my studio. We got a desk and the phone in during the last two days. I should be able to paint there some this next week! It is newly painted, but I will need to clean the windows. There is some "junk" in the storeroom that will be removed on Sunday. Here are some photos so you can see the before and after.

This is outside. My window is the closer one. It had paintings from the kids at the local school for their annual contest. Businesses downtown always put up the children's paintings for a month. The gallery sign is for the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild so I won't need a sign in front. Ha.

As you come in, this is the hallway with art from the Guild. You can see a wooden "L" shaped sign above the first door. This will be where I hang a sign. The next door is a room with Guild art, the next is a photographer/printer. The last two spaces and the hallway are the Guild's exhibit area. So the building is all art for the first time in a long time or maybe ever. There are two apartments upstairs and a law office.

Inside my studio looking to the window and street.

The back wall as you come in to the left of the door. I will post more photos as I get my "stuff" in there.

And for baseball, we have been going and the Longhorns are doing well. A little sporadic, but overall they have more wins than losses. That is always good.

We played the A & M Corpus Christi Islanders on Tuesday and Wednesday. Their team sports the high socks which Joanna and I like. It is a more traditional look. The Longhorns won both games. Yes!

We got their early enough for a couple of photos in the sunshine. This is the Texas dugout.

This is the scoreboard with the Kansas Jayhawks discussing the game. As you see the Longhorns won 3 - 2 in the eleventh inning. Pretty excuting game. The winning run was completed by Jordan Weymouth, pinch hitter. He hit a triple with one out. Then Tim Maitland hit a fly ball that was caught, but far enough out so that Jordan could score. You can read all about the games on Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and the Official Texas Longhorn Baseball site.

Have you set a date for the opening yet?

Sorry, Regina, we haven't set the date yet. Probably the middle of May. I hope to have a ribbon cutting with the Chamber next week. See if I can get it done. :( I'm so slow. Did get in the phone and internet and tomorrow I'm picking up some glass shelving from Lea. She is loaning it to me .... for a hundred years! Some art work up, too. Yay. I will paint tomorrow, Wednesday, as I donated a painting and haven't done it yet, they need it Friday. Yikes!
