Wow Jo, these all look really good. Fun to see a bunch of your work together in the frames like that!
Hi Rose, Thank you so much. I think as artists it is always great to have work framed and hanging together. Happy feeling of accomplishment. Shows are exciting that way.
These are so lovely, Jo! Haven't been to N.M. - looks like it's beautiful!
Thanks Teresa, New Mexico is home, so I think it is beautiful. Not prejudiced or anything. :) The mountain is the Organ Mountains near Las Cruces and the other is near Silver City or any of the mountain areas. :)
These are all so lovely, Jo!
I love the tres trees paintings. Your light is perfect. We had a discussion on frames yesterday while painting with my friends. There is an upcoming event where we are setting up a booth. Some people think framing cheaply is a good idea when selling paintings - others think a frame is very important. Me, I'm a cheapo framer. But your frames are very nice.
Hi Valerie, thanks so much.
Bag Blog, Thank you. I worked on trees for a year and I think it helped. I sketched and painted many. Frames are tough. I try to get the best looking ones I can without breaking the budget. These matted ones are from Walmart. The dark mat part is plastic, but the frames are wooden. Gene usually replaces the cardboard backs with foamcore to be somewhat archival. :) I paint mostly in standard sizes so frames can be purchased at reasonable prices. Odd sizes can sure run up the price.
I love paintings framed together. These looks so great!
Thank you, Joan. I have never put this type painting in a show, we shall see how it works.
WOW Jo, I just love this blog, it's so informative!! I especially love the tripychs too, all of them are lovely. I feel such a novice with my blog now, back to the drawing board, excuse the PUN..
