Number 4,5, and 6 - A cup, bowl and plate from my blue and white dishes. About twenty minutes. Number 7, shoe - one of Gene's black beach/sand slip on shoes. I put 10 minutes on the sketch, maybe a little more.

Number 8, Sun - A sunburst mirror from Peru. They are wooden with mirrors all over The pieces are outlined with putty or gesso and have gold leaf on them. With the different angles of the mirrors, they are quite shiny and reflect different directions.
Today was the meeting for the Austin Pastel Society. We passed our new by-laws and had a good meeting. It is good for the artist in me to get together with other pastelists and encourage and be encouraged. It is a good group and we have a great time.
Some exciting events coming up. A paint out in February. We have the workshop with Desmond O'Hagan and the annual juried show in March. Then Susan Carlin will be giving us a talk on blogging at one meeting or workshop in April. We have an in house contest coming in June. We have to paint to certain criteria and then the paintings will be auctioned as a fund raiser for our scholarship program. There will be prizes and we will all vote and select the winners. The APS will have a show in June at the Scarbrough Building in Austin. I will post more about that a little later. We had a garage sale of art supplies. Most of the artists brought items to sell and then bought from someone else so it was sort of a trade off.
I took a supply of magazines, The Artist Magazine, Pastel Journal and American Artist. Some were several years old, I gave them away and they disappeared quickly. Now I have a spot in my studio for the ones on the shelf here by my computer desk. So a little clutter is gone. Emphasize LITTLE.
I have to organize the studio somewhat tomorrow and Tuesday. Studio guest this week if all goes well. Did you see it in the comments? Fishing guy is coming to Texas from Ohio and will come by if he can. It will be fun to meet a fellow blogger from across the country! Yea!

I knew you would find a sun in your collection of art! I like your blue and white plates too!
Joan, I was looking for a moon, but may have to go to the real thing. :) The dishes are from 1973 and only one broken mug and one plate. Knock on wood. They went with us in all our travels, too.
Jo: Like your sunburst, that's a cool sketch.
I'm still coming to Texas but with a sore mouth.
fishing guy, we will be here! Sorry you have a sore mouth. I guess no hot chile for you! It is going to be cold here tomorrow and the next day. Yuck....
