Hunt Sketches Pen and Ink

For Scavenger Hunt 99, I used a Pilot ball point pen and my Cachet Studio Blank Book that is 7 x 10 inches, to sketch. I did these on September 1, but was too tired to post them and yesterday I just ran out of time. Good thing we are retired, can't run out of time when you have a full time job. You can check out the list and rules for this Hunt on this post from a couple of days ago.

Number 2, angular. I chose the drain pipe on the porch. About 10 minutes.

Number 3, printed. I was sketching the book that Gene was reading and he got up and left before I got the other hand done, so I ended the sketch without it. About 5 to 8 minutes. Number 4, hanging. I sketched Gene hanging on his inversion table. Ran off the paper on his feet. He was watching the news. About 15 minutes.

Number 5, under. I sketched under the tree in the front. There are some little wrought iron fairies there and this tree has ivy growing all the way up. About 15 minutes.

Are you sure that is not some sort of torture machine that you have strapped Gene too?

Jo: Love the sketch of Gene upside down.

Main question - is the torture working? Great drawings Jo!! Still impressed with you working in pen.

Heh. They all think you're torturing Dad. Poor Dad. :)

bag blog, it looks like torture to me, too! He says it feels good. I'm worried to try it that I would fall on my head or not be able to get out. Yikes.

fishing guy, thanks. It was Gene's idea to sketch that for "hanging". Funny guy.

Regina, I could think of worse torture. Ha. Keeps him quiet and still for a while. Thanks on the sketching. Did you read Robert Genn's column about style this past week or so? I look back at old sketches and am still the same. The practice has made me faster and sometimes more accurate if I think about it more, but my style has not changed in any drawings I find. I have tried to change my hatching to more even and pretty like other artists and it comes out "Me". Interesting to me.

Hi Joanna, I read your comment like they think I'm torturing your Dad but I am the tortured one. Ha.

Poor Dad, is right. Hugs.

Is Gene able to get a new "slant" on the news that way?
And I see the ivy fairies!

Hi Leslie, you know Gene. Giggle. I knew you would like the fairies. There are some around the bottom of both trees in the front, about 4. Cute.
