My knee kept us from playing golf again. Drat. I have stayed off of it and sat on the recliner with ice on it and did some sketching for Scavenger Hunt 49. Watched a lot of golf as well. I'm not even sure what we watched, except for the Canadian Open. You have to root for Mike Wier, well, I do. Gene brought things for me to sketch and he did some laundry and worked on his journal. It rained for about half an hour. There was no lightening today. A typical mountain thunder storm - hard and fast with lots of water running down the streets. When we were kids we would go out and wade in the cold water. As we got older we would hop in the car and go look at all the normally dry arroyos to see when the water would get there and how much. Not much to do in a small town. Ha.
All my sketches for Scavenger Hunt 49 were done in the NY sketchbook with a Micron 005 pen in blue. The challenge was to have your hand in every sketch, but I didn't do it on a few. I'm still including it when I can. Interesting challenge.
#4, something carved out of wood, some kitchen spoons and spatulas in a pottery pot that looks like a green barrel cactus with a pink flower. About 10 minutes.
#5, knot, a knot on the dirty clothes bag. About 10-15 minutes. I never remember to look at the time.
#6, something you hit a ball with. Gene's Snake Eyes putter with my fingers holding the sketchbook on my lap. The perspective is a little off, but not too bad. :)
#7, shampoo. It is lying on my knee, steadied by my hand. About 10 minutes.
#8, refrigerator magnet, little grey elephants.
This house is full of elephant knick-knacks. I couldn't find one carved of wood and I just now remembered one. It is on the window sill in the kitchen. Last Hunt one of the items was a pattern in cloth and there are elephants in the cover on the recliner, I just never got it sketched. I'm pretty sure there will be more items that I can use these elephants.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

I am loving all the sketches! You are busy, busy. I have visions of you riding along in the golf cart, swinging the club polo style, sketching with your other hand, and steering with your knees!
Leslie, Right! I have a hard enough time doing one at a time. :)
Now, you, could out sketch anyone with your eyes closed. I'm loving your stories on your blog.
