Scavenger Hunt Sketches and Golf Course photos

I'm trying to get back to sketching after the 'after the party let down'. The current Scavenger Hunt 33 will be over soon, but thought I would just plow in. These were done in the Matisse sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen, Burnt Umber. For those that are new to my blog, I sketch as quickly as I can with no erasing. I'm trying to "see" better and put it down with sure strokes. I'm not a natural sketcher, I have to work at it. By that, I mean that I don't really enjoy it, but feel it is very good for my art. Sue, in Michigan, really enjoys sketching and is a whiz at it.

It was interesting when I picked up this sketchbook I started in 1999 it has some sketches from our trip to Canada. One even in Yellowknife in the Northwest Territory. I may post a couple of those to see the difference, then and now. There were even some keys and fingers on my hand, I was doing a hunt and not knowing it. Ha. (You will see ordinary objects in the scavenger hunts, things around the house and neighborhood)

The challenge to sketch 5 items in a still life. Number 1 - coaster, Number 2 - napkin, Number 3 - salt shaker, Number 4 - candle holder, and Number 5 - candle. About 20-25 minutes.

Number 6 - favorite shirt, about forty-five minutes. I'm not sure on the times, but I finished before a two hour movie was over and started late. :) Time flies when you are having fun. :(

A turtle at the golf course. I have taken photos of them several times over the past few weeks. They all dive in the water and it seems one is always just there. I'm assuming it is the same one and just is used to humans now.

This is a larger view of the water hole with the turtles. It is so pretty and quiet on golf courses, I think that is part of my interest. I am not a person to just go for a walk, but I like being on the golf courses and walking around. We don't use a cart here, just walk nine holes as often as we can. It was cloudy and cool today.

This photo of the golf course looks like a painting begging to happen.

Yes, golf courses have such beautiful scenery. Full of plein air moments. Thanks for stopping by.
