I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Food for Thought
We complain about paying taxes. Joanna put a link to this article to think about. Exxon has a $30 billion tax bill for 2007. Whew.

On the Road
We will be on the road for a few days, so not sure how much I will be blogging. Check out some of my links or my "On the Road" section of my web page. :) It was my blog, of sorts, before this blog. Scroll down for a paint out in Nova Scotia, Canada, a few years ago.
In the meantime, you can also check out the Raymar art contest for oil and acrylic painters. Nice prizes. I do paint in oil once in a while. The fumes give me a headache, though.

Susan's Dream Come True
Congratulations to Susan, our friend, on the opening of her studio/gallery in La Villita, San Antonio, Texas. I can only imagine how exciting this is. Pop over and add a comment on her blog. She is a great pastelist and does wonderful portraits in oil and pastel. She is generous and supporting to fellow artists as well. She sent me a great list of hints for my upcoming class. If you are in San Antonio stop by the studio and visit or take a class.

- I Grew up in a small town , Magdalena, New Mexico. I enjoy art and the pleasure other people get from my work. I always donate some of my sales and art to charities, especially for children.
