I'm behind as usual. Items on the Hunt list were something used for cooking and vegetable. Lazy me didn't want to get out the lettuce, the only fresh veggie in the house, unless you count tomatoes. I also didn't feel like sketching a pan or cooking utensil so..... boring sketches in my mind.
These are for Hunt 167 https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-167-aug-06-aug-18.8144/ in the Conda Sketchbook whish is about letter paper size and regular paper for drawing.
Number 3 used for cooking - black pepperNumber 4 vegetable - pinto beans
I've been thinking about how good sketching is in learning to draw and help you see things when you sketch from life. I need to write more about that. Hope you are sketching and having fun.
We watched the bull riding last night. It is so different now with the team contests, fireworks, music and comotion. We were wondering what Gene's brother, Roger, and my brothers, Skinny and Powder, would have thought about that. I imagine they would be right in the middle of it. There is big bucks to be made nowadays.
Here's the Bad Brahma Bull by Chris LeDoux, one of Roger's bull riding friends. He sings lots of the old songs.

Good job on the details of the pepper jar and the pinto beans. I went to a rodeo once in PA. Jerry's friend that lives in Itasca did some bull riding many, many years ago. We drove down to PA to see him ride.
Joan, thanks. Fun that you went to a rodeo and your friend rode bulls. There was a team from New York. I think the team from Oklahoma was in the lead. They will ride every Friday until fall finals. The Brazilians are big into bull riding and many have moved to a community in Texas so the Texas team has more Brazilians. Interesting to watch.
I’m making a pot of beans in my slow-cooker today. They’re Flageolet beans from Rancho Gordo. It’s the first time I’ve tried these ones. They’re little beans about half (or maybe two-thirds) the size of pinto beans and are pale green (similar to linda beans) before cooking.

Hmmm, no-so-anonymour Joanna. I've never heard of those beans. Hope they are delicious. Let us know.
Jo I think you chose good subjects for your sketching challenge. I need to do more of these...it certainly has to improve one's skills. Isn't it amazing how simple subjects can be harder to draw than one can imagine? Glad you enjoyed the bull riding. Hope you are staying cool. Have a great day. Hugs!
Love it.

Debbie, thank you. I try to sketch new things, hard when I don't get out and about much. My style doesn't change much from practice but I am faster if not more accurate. Ha.
R's Rue, thanks soooo much.
