We are trying some respite care. For the first time to use it I went to get the car washed and sketch a little. Well, the car wash was closed and it was a bit rainy early so it was cool enough to sit in the shade at the food truck court in Bastrop. There was a coffee/drink trailer open and a Mexican food place open, just the two. I had a latte from the huge menu at the coffee place and a gordita from the food truck. Pretty good.
I sketched the coffee truck and the foundry show room across the street for Scavenger Hunt 164. https://creativespark.art/threads/scavenger-hunt-from-life-164-jul-01-jul-13.8061/
Number 3 animal - the sculptures. Left to right the bear seems to have wings and had some turquoise color on it, maybe rock art drawings. The next I couldn't really see ... maybe an odd shaped unicorn. The rounded animal may be a bear or pig. It looked like an elephant with no trunk. The last was an abstracted longhorn. I ran out of space to do it justice and was using pen with too large nib for my small drawing. All I could see on the sign was Found so not sure if I was seeing all the name. The showroom is for the foundry in Bastrop and I haven't been in to check it out. Looks very nice. There was a red Jeep parked there, too. Jeep was on the list last Hunt. I need to get closer and check it out. Maybe next day out.Number 4 pink - the coffee truck had lots of pink on it. I should have sketched in a customer or two but I'm out of practice catching action, next time!Number 5 building - as I got in the car I saw I was right across from the fire station. I only had a few minutes so I sketched and put the color this afternoon at home. These are in the Canson Mixed Media large sketchbook, half page each. I used some Ohuhu pens and watercolors.
Gene was worried about me leaving him but he liked the lady that came so we will try again next week. Medicare pays for a few hours. My idea is to have emergency care arranged in case I have to go to the ER or something and who will be with Gene? This place has emergency care to come stay with him for a few hours or days.
