Trip to Chimayo

We went to Chimayo, New Mexico, last Saturday to celebrate my birthday.  We love the old Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant  and were told they had a B & B so we stayed there.  What a nice Saturday and Sunday.  The drive from Angel Fire goes through Mora, Sipapu Ski Area, Peñasco, and Truchas with lots of other pueblitos on the way.  It was so beautiful.

The B & B, Hacienda,  is great.  We had no cell phone service in the mountains and then no internet, TV, or long distance phone at the Hacienda.  The restaurant burned a few years ago but is restored to the same nice place with terraces and patios.  Great New Mexico food and a nice time was had by all.

Here are some photos grabbed from Gene's photos.

I love the Chimayo area and eating at the restaurant. I have many of the same photos - like Truchas and the mill in Mora. Do you ever stop at the rasberry farm?

Bag Blog, it is fun to know someone who knows our favorites, too. So pretty on that old 434/518 road.

Joan, thank you. I didn't even take a photo of the church this year. So bad. I meant to.

Teresa, thanks so much. It is about time to start reversing the birthdays and count backwards.
