Number 4, kipper - substitute fish. I bought these little fish shaped salt and pepper shakers to sketch when we have "fish" on the list. I usually sketch a can of tuna.
The shakers are very cute in blue and white pottery. They are hard to sketch and I hadn't thought about that. With the design it is hard to see and sketch the shapes. Fun, anyway.
The real shakers.

They are pretty shakers but look too hard to sketch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joan. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Ha. Something different anyway.
ReplyDeleteWonderful reference photo and wonderful sketch. Shakers are always a good subject. I was thinking of doing salt and pepper shakers that I picked up in Manhattan 53 years ago before I got married. They were so pretty ..glass with pretty colors running through it..
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day.
interesting looking shakers :) works perfect for kippers
ReplyDeletehmuxo, thank you. I may try the fish shakers again sometime. I look forward to seeing your glass painting, will be beautiful in pastel.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Rose, thanks. I've seen and smelled smoked kippered herring, is that kippers? Never tried any.
