Outside Sketches and APS Show

We were outside on the porch.  Going to be in the 80s F today. Snowing in the northeast and mountains today.  Yikes!  Stay warm and safe all y'all.

For Scavenger Hunt From Life 58  https://creativespark.art/threads/hunt-58-%E2%80%93-feb-19-%E2%80%93-feb-27.5183/

These are in the ArtStreet sketchbook with a Micron 03.  Pretty quick freehand sketches.

Number 5 rocks - I don't remember why we have a pile of rocks in the yard.  Hmmm.

Number 6 a pump spray - a bottle with vinegar and dish soap for the bugs, especially the wasps.  The wasp spray is so messy and not good for you.  It takes a few sprays with this, but finally gets the wasps.  Gene is allergic to bees and wasps.

Number 7 a water view - toward the westerly pond/lake.

Number 8 found outside - the corner of the shed with a wheelbarrow and some of the trees.

Number 9 found in the medicine cabinet - pills and more pills.  We definitely have a cabinet full.

Still working on the APS donation stuff.  Here is the donor poster.  The prizes are nice.  Pastels, paper, Pastelbord, pastel tools, watercolor for under painting and some nice gift certificates.  The companies were generous.  Hope you support them!

And the flyer for your information.  Hope you can make it to the show. I think there are about 70 paintings by 40 or so artists in a large variety of technique and style.   A good excuse to go to Trader Joe's in the same shopping center.

The painting on the flyer is "Too Young to Drive" by Yingying Chen. The other landscape painting is "Garner Park" by Mike Etie.   I'll let you know when the paintings go on-line so you can view them and the winners of the competition.

Liz Haywood-Sullivan is judging the show and having a demo the weekend of March 3, you can view info on the website if you want to join the Austin Pastel Society and go to the demo. https://austinpastelsociety.org

The Austin Pastel Society is a great group of sharing and talented artists.  Not all live in Austin, myself included.

  1. Amazing art work! It's nice here, but I think we only made it to the mid-sixties...but it's plenty sunny and beautiful today!

  5. Joan, I did not enter the show. I've been gathering the prizes. I stepped in as the person doing that had a health problem. It's been a bit more work than I bargained for, but nice that I could help and support our group.

  6. Elizabeth, so sorry I didn't answer your post. I missed a few on the 23rd. Hmm. Happy to have this good weather, eh? I wish it would be like today all year! Gene says I would be bored. I wonder.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Comments are much appreciated. :) I will be moderating comments for a while to see how that works. You won't see your comments until I read them. Better than you getting spam stuff. Thanks for your patience.
