Happy Father's Day!

We are going to Jennie's today for Father's Day.  We will meet up with the Texas kiddos and have a cook out of sorts.  Hamburgers and carrot cake for dessert.  It is always good to get together.

Regina, painting buddy Regina Burchett, commented on my Father's Day Post from 2007.  Interesting.  She put up a post about fathers and men, a good read and thoughts:

So I thought I would post a link to my previous Father's Day posts:

Hope your day is great.

  3. Hope Mr. Castillo has a great Father’s Day! Cool to see all of his photos, determined guy that he is. And you too, Jo! Wish I resolved to sketch, draw and paint as much as you!

  4. Thanks, Regina. Gene had a great day! Felt pretty good and Jennie and Brandon did the cooking! Sketching has kept me going in art. Mostly due to Sue Modrak, she was always buying me sketchbooks. You inspire the pastel painting....

  6. Gene should see your comment, but I will pass it on in case. That is a cool photo of my dad, isn't it. I sort of protected it and haven't posted it anywhere before. Fun memories. The horse, Burro, belonged to a friend. I imagine it was Burro's first barrel race, pretty sure he was a rope horse. Of course back then you/we had one horse for everything. My cousins up north have a horse for barrels, one for pole bending and another for roping for a young teenage girl. Yikes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Comments are much appreciated. :) I will be moderating comments for a while to see how that works. You won't see your comments until I read them. Better than you getting spam stuff. Thanks for your patience.
