I realized this morning that the Outdoor Painters Society Trio paint out is this week. Yikes! I thought I had another week to practice. I will need to be in La Grange on Thursday to paint a couple of paintings, go to Art Connections for a reception and eat at the Bodega Wine Market. It will be fun to meet the other artists. There are 25 or so artists registered.
We will paint in Smithville on Friday and in Bastrop on Saturday. Be sure and come see the paintings in Bastrop Saturday at 530 at the Lost Pines Art Center and check out the other events there.
For practice I sketched/plein air painted out on the driveway.
Number 5, left turn - around the corner in front of the house.
Photos of my set up. I stand on the pads to help my poor feet. Thanks to Gene for the idea some years ago.
We had a couple of cool mornings and some rain storms on Saturday. This was on Sunday morning after the rain. A fisherman at our lake on such a beautiful day. You can click on the photos to make them larger.
Baseball on Sunday was Bark in the Park day .. Quite a few dogs brought their owners to the game. Only one was disguised as a longhorn. Quite a few had on Texas t-shirts. They were "quarantined" to 3rd base bleacher/seats area away from most of the crowd and food. A potty area was set up outside the gate. Owners had to provide a "history" and apply to bring them.
And sadly the Kansas State Wildcats won 2 of the 3 games over the weekend. Pbfttttt.

really great pastel sketch, nice range of textures and love all the green :)
ReplyDeleteJennifer Rose, thank you so much. There is lots of green in central Texas, a whole new thing for me coming from the high deserts of New Mexico.
