Tulip Cup, Pastel Painting

This Tulip Cup is finished for the show. It is soft pastel on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper mounted on illustration board.

This set of dishes was purchased in 1973 before our move to Bolivia. We didn't have a set of matching dishes and we knew we would have to entertain, so off to find something I liked. The name is Tulip Time and has a Dutch windmill and flowers on them. My dishes had to be blue and white. A no brainer there. My kitchen is red, white and blue now. The set is still very much intact after many, many uses. The cups are used mostly for coffee in our house. We don't drink much tea. I have a collection of cups, mostly mugs, that I rotate to use most of them. I wonder why old dishes bring on so many fond memories. I guess they have been around and traveled many miles.

  2. Marie-Dom, thanks so much. I have not had time for the scavenger hunts so have been checking your sketches. Very good lately and you have been sketching a lot. Great.
