Hunt 109 Sketches

Today was sketching at the physical therapy place while Gene worked on his walking.  I found a fire hydrant for the Hunt.  I thought I could park to the side in the shade but that was the fire lane so I backed in as far as I could on the other side for my view.  Still a bit awkward.

I sketched in the large Canson Mix Media sketchbook hoping that that would provide more stability in the car.  It did for the top of the page with the fire hydrant, not so much for the bottom with the storefront.

Number 1 fire hydrant - using a Sharpie pen, watercolors and waterbrushes

Number 2 storefront - using a Sharpie pen  Looks like the pen is running out of ink or nib.

A good start for the Hunt I think.

James Gurney put up an interesting post about fine art vs illustration.  Here is a link.

  1. I like your red fire hydrant. I wonder who decided on the color that will be used. Ours here are yellow, but they are red in NYC.

  2. Hi Joan, the fire hydrant is not quite that red. Sort of faded. There are some here that are bright blue! Maybe by county or water district.
