Tyler the Rooster, Watercoor Practice

The Southwest/Western forum on wetcanvas challenge for May had a photo of Tyler the rooster with some hens.  I have been wanting to practice again with my new Windsor Newton watercolor markers.  If you recall when I used them before, they did not blend well.  It was the paper.  The markers worked find on Arches 140 lb. surface.

I liked the markers much better this time round.  I do think I got a bit too saturated for a sketch.  They will definitely work for sketching on watercolor paper.  They did not blend well on smooth sketching paper.  I seem to have covered up the ink which was not my intention.  I put on a bit more but should have waited until it was completely dry.  I will try that now.....

Maybe you still can't see much difference but in real life the ink shows more.

See how the next one comes out.
