After pondering over the list, I decided to use my pastels again. I wiped off the paper, yet again. Lots of pastel on it so I brushed it, wiped it and blended the last with some water for the gray under painting.

Number 5, something to reflect the season - winter in Central Texas is mild. The leaves are still on the little oak, even though they are gone from most of the non evergreen trees. Stubborn little tree in the back yard.
Hindsight is 50, 50 they say. I should have arranged the pines differently so the dry trees could show more. It is a busy area with the limbs, dry leaves and then the background. It is just a sketch, but learned something if I decide to make a painting of the trees again. Simplify!

If you decide to do it again, maybe put the fall leaf tree somewhere besides the middle. It seems to be the center of attention. Still, it is a fun sketch.
ReplyDeleteBag Blog, thanks for the reminders. Hopefully if I had been doing a painting I would have done a bit more planning. Sometimes the wipe off gives a great under painting!
