The challenges on the Southwest and Western forum on wetcanvas are meant to be paintings. The artists take turns posting the photos to paint from. It will be my turn for August. I will post them late tomorrow evening. I usually just sketch from the photos. My paintings from life are usually better. I'm not a fan of painting from photos, even from my own. I do like the SW forum and the artists there are fun and sharing so I try to do at least one sketch or painting during the month. I did one sketch earlier and here are a couple more.

Photos for July were posted by Kay Smith. She lives in Big Spring and Ruidoso. We have crossed paths many times but have never met. We did chat on the phone when we came up here to Angel Fire, she was on the highway, too. One of these days we will get together for some painting and chatting time. She paints mostly in watercolor and is a very active artist. Have a look, she does beautiful work. http://kaysmithbrushworks.blogspot.com/
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.
