We have a Quick Draw with paintings/sketches or whatever that you draw in one hour. We also have a Monthly Challenge. This month the photos are all cows, thanks to Jenna. (my art link for the day, Jenna sculpts, draws, etc.) I didn't have much time today, so I took out a 5 x 7 Pastelbord and quickly did this cow for the challenge. I was thinking it was for the Quick Draw so I set a time limit of an hour - I was wrong. I posted it in the Monthly Challenge since that is where I got the photo.
Hour Cow
5 x 7 inches, Pastel on Pastelbord
It was fun to play in the dust for an hour.
Now it is off to fix dinner. Larry (http://larrycastillophotography.com/) is coming this evening. He is taking photos at the race in the State Park tomorrow morning, you can still join, sponsored by the YMCA:
Burning Pine Run 5K and 10K
so he can sleep in a bit and go from here in just a few minutes. It is always nice to have some of our kids around.
I hope to get to the Bastrop First Friday Artwalk tonight, too. We shall see how it goes. Maybe I will leave dinner ready, go to town and then come back to visit with Larry.
See my sidebar to save some dates for October. The Austin State Hospital show and a house concert here at the house. I will post more about these events soon.
Sunday, Joanna, Gene and I are going to a house concert to see Betty Soo. Great fun.
I'm totally impressed that you did that in an hour Jo! Nicely done - enjoy all your fun goings on.
ReplyDeleteYeah, an hour! You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteRose, thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteBag Blog, thanks. Quick can sometimes be good. A good photo helps. :)
Cute face on the cow!!! Nicely done. Sometimes a time limit pushes us a bit. Sounds like you have a busy evening!
ReplyDeleteJoan, thanks. I need pushing as I'm going to a workshop this week! Yikes, I'm so out of a routine.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, He is excellent, love your edges. An hour, I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, Hi there! Lots of board showing through, so nice soft edges and no time to get picky which is usually my downfall. :) Thanks.
ReplyDeleteReally nice 1-hour painting!
ReplyDeleteJoanna, thank you. I do like working quickly. I get bored if it takes too long. :)
