Shapes and Texture Sketches

Scavenger Hunt from Life Number 4 is underway today.  I picked some common items for shapes and texture.

Sketched on MiTeintes paper, smooth side with a variety of pastels, about a 30 minute sketch.

Numbers 1,2,3,4 - glass, brass, wood and cylinder

When I sketch things seem to lean to the left.  Do you think if I was left handed they would lean to the right?  Something to ponder.

Our fall colors have not been great this year.  I am not into oranges and yellow anyway.  Here is the bit of color in our back yard.

Brown, as are most of the leaves.

Orange, one little tree.

We are going to the opening tonight at the Lost Pines Art Center.  Should be nice.

I find a lot of my items lean to the left too. Nice highlights on your still life.

Have fun at the opening reception. I hope the show is a big hit. I finally finished framing my paintings for next weekend's show. Still gathering smaller matted pieces and other things to bring to sell. It isn't easy to find things after not needing them for 2 years.

Joan, thank you so much. Hope your show is a big success. It is hard to get back in the show mode. We had a nice opening, mostly artists, but at least someone was out and about.

Going to an opening sounds fun. We had our reception for the Holiday Art Show right before Thanksgiving. It was fun. Then the next day I went to Paul's Valley (about an hour drive) to see the opening of a photography show there. One of our CTAC ladies was in the show. Good to get out and about.

i do think the lean thing def has to do if you are left or right handed. i know so many people that do the same thing (including me lol)
