Hunt and Sketch

Scavenger Hunt 217 is well on the way. I first sketched on April 2 in my regular sketchbook with a Pilot ball point pen.  Then I sketched yesterday and today in my small sketchbook I carry in my purse.  Of course I had forgotten I had done the first sketch so they are not numbered correctly.  Ah well.

Number 1, see through it - the window in our living room.

Number 2, flower - Mom Frances’ little plant that I have sketched so many times.  It always seems to be blooming.  It was watered yesterday and now has 3 beautiful blooms, it only had two sad ones yesterday when I sketched.  Number 3, arrangement, the items on a little table - tissue, picture frame, tile.

Number 4, view - the fish pond fountain at the restaurant last night.

Number 5, something you can cook in - Mom Frances’ microwave.

Number 6, suspended - a perpetual calendar Gene's mom made years ago.

Number 7, view - the fish pond and water fall at the restaurant last night.

Baseball Photos

The Longhorns were able to score well today!  Final was 10-1 over the Missouri Tigers.  The Horns won the series.  Yay!  A few photos of the fun.  Check out the stories at Joanna's Longhorn Baseball Page and the official Longhorn website.

The score, they had dropped off the Missouri score.  Weird.

Covering the pitchers' mound.

Base runners under 14 years old.  The kids love this after the game.

You can see a little league team all dressed as Longhorns.  Cool.
A Christmas colored car at the restaurant after the game.

The colorful soap at the car wash on the way home.  Very cool.

No Smile Tonight

I went to Lou Baggett's blog for a smile tonight but instead it is full of sorrow.  I so wish we could do something to help our military that are returning from the battles overseas.  This story about Clay Hunt is  another of the sad stories of our brave young men and women.

We should all remember those that protect us and our freedom and thank them one and all every day.  Thank you!

Studio Move, Wow! Photos

How do we accumulate so much stuff in a year.  I packed up on Wednesday and Thursday from my gallery and brought it home.  I know it was all here before, but it looks impossible to fit in again!  Yesterday I went down to the empty gallery and patched the holes in the wall and swept up the floors.  I meant to take a photo of the empty room but didn't.  I probably have one from a year ago.  :)

This is in the downstairs room, the pad on the floor is what I stand on to paint.  It saves the old legs and feet.

Some of the paintings and shelves.

Look into the main part of my home studio.

More junk, uh equipment, on the floor.

And still more.  Will it all fit where I can walk around and paint??
We also went to the UT Baseball game.  The Longhorns won 5 - 4 over Missouri.  It was a very interesting game.  The Horns came from behind and won.  Good for them!!

Here are some photos from the road on the way into Austin to the game.

Some bluebonnets.  We don't have many this year.  :(

The traffic, worse coming toward Bastrop, thankfully.

And, of course, we had to be stopped by the light rail.  Looks empty!
Oh, and there are a couple of tables and a shelf still in the car.  Whew!
