Sketches, Hunting Stuff

I sketched last night while watching "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader". I enjoy that. I sketched in my 7 x 10 inch sketchbook with a Micron 05 pen, freehand. My normal MO.

Number 7 and 8 - fork and spoon, a decorative set from Hawaii, carved wood about 18 inches long, yikes, Gene reminded me they are about 40 years old!

Number 9, toothpick - I stuck a few in an old shot glass that belonged to my Dad. The glass should be fatter and it is well over 40 years old.

Today I sketched number 10, watering can - A red, white, and blue can that Jennie gave me, not nearly 40 years old. A challenge to do a sketch in charcoal. I do not like working with charcoal. It is messy and the grating sound on the paper touches a nerve. I can't control it. I can't keep the white clean, etc., etc. I should have sketched in pencil first and should have looked for a charcoal pencil, I used a square piece. I sketched on a 9 x 12 inch sketchpad.

Today I sketched while I waited for the Colourfix Medium to dry on a piece of Masonite I am getting ready for a pastel painting. I wanted to do a 12 x 24 inch painting again. That is an interesting format. I wanted to do it on a board so that I can frame it against the glass. More about that later. I did do some art. Yes!!
