Marcus has been doing art since he could hold a crayon. He can paint, draw and many other techniques but seems to be working with glass at the moment. If you are in the area check out the Art On the Bridge on Saturday, October 13, and get acquainted with Markie and buy some jewelry. There are many artists working in a variety of media and producing original art work. A big day in Bastrop with arts and crafts. You can read about it on the Bastrop Fine Arts Guild web page.
I am an artist that paints in pastels, with some oils, and acrylics. I sketch in pen and ink. As an artist my original paintings are influenced from living in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Bolivia, Peru and Chile, and travels throughout much of Canada and all our fifty States. This is my spot for posting paintings and sketches, to muse mostly about art, life and a little about UT Baseball.

Marcus Cundy, Fused Glass Artist
Well, guess who is advancing in the art world? None other than Marcus "Markie" Cundy, son of Lea Cundy in Bastrop, Texas. Congratulations on being the cover artist in the paper this past week!!

This article and cover are from the Bastrop Advertiser. They don't have an on line version of the paper for a link.
You can see Lea's wonderful wildflower pottery and more about Marcus on their website, Blue Donkey Studios. The studio has a second website.

Sketches for Scavenger Hunt 55
I sketched these day before yesterday and haven't had the time or energy to post them. They are for Scavenger Hunt 55, which has only a couple of days more to go. I'm so behind, as always. Obviously I am not getting 26 items done. :( These were done in the NY sketchbook with a Micron 005 pen and colored pencils.
#4 Something that is a different color inside and out. The pool here at the house. About 30 minutes
#5 A shoe with laces. Challenge, include a foot. The little toe doesn't show at that angle, but I wasn't going to do it over just to show that bit. I kind of liked the foot! 20 minutes.
#6 Something taller than me. The tree in the yard. Challenge use fall colors. The fence is sort of a rusty pink color so I'm calling it a fall color. 25 minutes.
#7 Something without my glasses. A palm in the yard. 20 minutes.

Mac and Cheese, .... and art
Watercolor, 11 x 14 inches
One of my rare watercolors, sold
I haven't done art or posted because of the move from SVC to LRU. Linda Blondheim gives some really good advice for artists and is/was a caterer and offers a recipe a day. They sound so good, both the advice and the recipes. One of my rare watercolors, sold
Todays art advice was about unnecessary competition among artists, her open class studio and a recipe for a macaroni and cheese sandwich. Wish I could try this. When we get home, I will make some gluten free macaroni and bread and try it. It won't be the same, so can you please try it for me?
